Answers to some of the most common questions we get asked about CMIG.

How do I get my child into CMIG?2017-12-11T08:14:22+00:00

You can get in touch with us by using the details on our Contact Us page.

Let us know which days are preferred, and we will try to find a suitable class for you and your child.

If we do not have a space in a class for an immediate start, we will take your contact details and add you to our notification list, to inform you when we have available spaces.

What days/times are the classes?2017-12-11T10:28:23+00:00

For information on the days and times for current classes, please visit our Timetables page.

Is there a waiting list?2021-03-25T20:23:32+00:00

We sometimes operate a waiting list during times when our classes are full.

When spaces become available, which is more likely to be at the end of each 9 week block of recreation classes, we contact those who’ve enquired about a space, with details of which days we have available.

The spaces are given out to those who respond to the message on a first come, first served basis

Where are you located?2017-12-11T09:21:23+00:00

We’re based in Gorton behind the large Tesco store, next to the library. Our postcode is M18 8HE.

A map and directions to the club can be found here.

Is there any parking?2017-12-11T09:30:00+00:00

There’s parking at the side of the centre, and there’s a large car park at the rear of the library.

There’s also plenty of available parking at the Tesco store across the road from the centre.

Does my child have to be a member in order to do gymnastics?2021-03-25T20:22:31+00:00

For our recreation classes membership is required and your child must be registered as both a member of our club and of British Gymnastics. An annual membership fee is applicable.

For our Play Gym classes, only membership of the club is required and no membership fee is applicable.

We also run holiday sessions during school holidays and these are usually open to both members and non-members.

How much does membership cost?2020-11-23T18:39:46+00:00

Membership of CMIG costs £30.00. Membership must be paid prior to participation in class sessions. More information on class fees is available on our Timetables & Booking page.

What is included in the membership fee?2017-12-11T11:17:30+00:00

Our annual membership fee gives you membership to our club and British Gymnastics from September to August of each year.

This is renewable every September, and is paid directly to our club when booking your child’s class for the first time or for the new gymnastics’ year.

How can I make payments?2020-11-23T18:41:23+00:00

Please make payments (for fees & membership etc) in cash or cheque – If you need it, there is a cash machine located at the Tesco store across the road.

What should my child wear in class?2020-11-23T18:43:20+00:00

We recommend that children wear shorts and a t-shirt.

If your child owns a gymnastics leotard this would ideal but it is not necessary to participate in a class.

Do I need to stay with my child?2021-03-25T20:25:12+00:00

[CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS HAS FORCED SOME CHANGES – at present we are not able to allow non-participants into the centre for our 5 years and over recreation classes and the following marked ** do not currently apply]

**If your child is in one of our Foundation classes, we strongly recommend that you stay and watch your child.

**If your child is in one of our Advanced, High Flyers or Top Flyers classes, then you can leave your child once they’re in class. Or you can watch from our reception area, and enjoy a hot drink and snack while you wait.

**Should you leave the premises, you must return to the centre at least 10 minutes before the end of your child’s session.

[Once the restrictions are lifted we hope to reinstate the above points]

No child is allowed to leave the centre without a parent or guardian.

Our Play Gym sessions are Parent and Child classes and participants must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Can a child do only one class per week?2020-11-23T18:50:54+00:00

We recommend that your child starts with one class a week, to see how they get on in class.

Then, if your child wants to do another class, you can enquire at the reception desk and we will try to find another day and time that’s suitable for you.

Each additional class, after the first one, includes a 25% discount on the 9 week block fee.

What happens if I can’t make it to a class?2017-12-11T10:32:40+00:00

Should you be unable to attend a class within the block and you know this in advance, please let Reception know.

Please note that the class fee is non-refundable.

How do I secure my child’s place for the next block of classes?2020-11-23T18:52:06+00:00

To secure your child’s current place on the class register, you will need to re-book before the end of class on Week 8 of the block.

Any spaces not registered by this time will be offered to people on our waiting list – you will lose your guaranteed place in the next block of classes.

When is priority rebooking?2020-11-23T18:52:48+00:00

Priority rebooking falls on week 7 and 8 of each block.

You can pay the fees on either of these two weeks to secure your child’s space for the following block.

If you’re unsure when the rebooking period is, you can pick up a copy of our calendar from Reception.

What happens if I miss priority rebooking?2020-11-23T18:54:24+00:00

If you do not rebook before the end of your child’s class on week 8, we will not be able to guarantee your child’s space for the following block.

If you miss the priority rebooking period, we recommend that you contact us so that we can check whether their current class has any availability.

If there isn’t, we can try to find an alternative class. You would then need to make payment ASAP to secure the place.

Do you offer classes for adults?2020-11-23T18:55:49+00:00

All of our classes are for children, we do not run any sessions for adults.
