Answers to some of the most common questions we get asked about CMIG.

How do I get my child into CMIG?2022-05-11T20:46:49+01:00

You can get in touch with us by contacting us via our How to Join page.

Let us know which days are preferred, and we will try to find a suitable class for you and your child.

If we do not have a space in a class for an immediate start, we will take your contact details and add you to our notification list, to inform you when we have available spaces.

Is there a waiting list?2021-07-28T14:14:31+01:00

We sometimes operate a waiting list during times when our classes are full.

When spaces become available, we contact those who’ve enquired about a space, with details of which days we have available.

The spaces are given out to those who respond to the message on a first come, first served basis

Where are you located?2017-12-11T09:21:23+00:00

We’re based in Gorton behind the large Tesco store, next to the library. Our postcode is M18 8HE.

A map and directions to the club can be found here.

Is there any parking?2022-04-20T16:58:39+01:00

We have free parking at the side of the centre for our visitors, and there’s also a large car park at the rear of the library off Hyde Road.

In addition to that there’s plenty of available parking at the Tesco store across the road from the centre.

Does my child have to be a member in order to do gymnastics?2021-07-28T14:16:37+01:00

For our recreation classes membership is required and your child must be registered as both a member of our club and of British Gymnastics. An annual membership fee is applicable.

For our Play Gym classes, membership is free.

We also run holiday sessions during school holidays and these are open to both members and non-members.

How much does membership cost?2024-07-25T18:49:52+01:00

Annual membership of CMIG costs £40 a year plus a monthly membership subscription fee depending on your membership level. Our members must also be members of British Gymnastics, the Governing body for the sport of gymnastics. The annual membership fee includes £16 club membership (CMIG) and £24 British Gymnastics membership. This fee must be paid when you first join in order to participate in class sessions and then renewed each year, see our membership page for more information. The monthly membership subscription is paid by direct debit and is set up through our club membership app.

Please be aware that all payments must be made in advance and that failed or late payments will be subject to an additional administration fee as per the club’s terms and conditions of membership.

What is included in the membership fee?2024-07-25T18:51:22+01:00

Our membership subscription gives you access to our club’s services and all of the British Gymnastics resources and support that we access. Depending on the level of their monthly subscription members have a guaranteed place in one or more classes per week at the appropriate class level, plus access to the club’s assessment and reward scheme, in-house competitions and our club resource library.

Annual membership runs from the beginning of the month you joined and must be renewed each year.

How can I make payments?2022-05-03T14:38:32+01:00

We take cash, cheque and card payments along with payment by monthly subscriptions which is set up by direct debit. You can also request a payment link be sent to you if contacting us by email, depending on the type of item being paid for.

What should my child wear in class?2021-07-28T14:23:27+01:00

We recommend that children wear shorts and a t-shirt, or if they wish a leotard/leotard and shorts.

If your child owns a gymnastics leotard this would ideal but it is not necessary to participate in a class. If you wish to purchase any items of clothing from our shop you can go to shop.cmig.uk and order them directly.

Do I need to stay with my child?2022-04-20T19:16:12+01:00

If your child is in one of our Foundation classes, we strongly recommend that you stay and watch your child.

If your child is in one of our Advanced, High Flyers or Team Gym classes, then you can leave your child once they’re in class. Or you can watch from our reception area, and enjoy a hot drink and snack while you wait.

Should you leave the premises, you must return to the centre at least 10 minutes before the end of your child’s session.

No child is allowed to leave the centre without a parent or guardian.

Our Play Gym sessions are Parent and Child classes and participants must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Can a child do only one class per week?2022-04-20T19:16:56+01:00

We recommend that your child starts with one class a week, to see how they get on in class.

Then, if your child wants to do another class, you can enquire at the reception desk and we will find another day and time that’s suitable for you.

Each additional class, after the first one, includes a discount.

What happens if I can’t make it to a class?2022-04-20T19:17:40+01:00

Should you be unable to attend a class and you know this in advance, please let Reception know who can inform the coach.

Please note that the class fee is non-refundable.

How do I secure my child’s place in class?2022-04-20T19:24:31+01:00

To secure your child’s place on the class register, you simply need to ensure that you continue to make your monthly membership subscription payments. If you aren’t currently a member and wish to join simply drop us an email or give us a call.

Any spaces in classes will be offered to people on our waiting list on a first come first served basis.
